Today, English has been massively used in society. It can be seen from the school curriculum that entering the English subject in it starts from elementary until university. The purposes are to investigate how the implementation of English dialogue practice as a role-play method in teaching English in that school and also elaborate the factors are affecting the student’s willingness to communicate using English through the implementation of the method. The participants of this study consist of all the 20 sixth-grade students of SDN 2 Sumbergirang. Through the observation, questionnaire, and interview, the findings of this study revealed that the implementation of English dialogue practice in teaching-learning activities can help students has a little improvement in their speaking skills and make them happier during English teaching-learning activities. Moreover, these findings also indicated that the student’s willingness to communicate using English in this school is still low which is caused by some factors such as the student’s feelings, student’s character, self-confidence, the student’s opportunity to communicate in the implementation of English dialogue practice, student’s anxiety, the dialogue topic and task difficulty, familiar interlocutors, and the interactional pattern. As the result, it can be concluded that the English dialogue practice may improve the students’ speaking skills but it doesn’t warrant the students wanting to communicate using English.
