Abstract

Guessing game is a part of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), which will create an atmosphere for students to increase the desire to learn languages. This study aims to is to find out whether playing guessing games can improve students’ English’s speaking enthusiasm of the second graders students of SMAN 7 Semarang. In this research, the researcher decided to use experimental design to investigate whether or not English guessing games affected students’ speaking enthusiasm at the second graders of SMAN 7 Semarang. In this research, the writer selected the second graders students of SMAN 7 Semarang in Academic Years 2021/2022 as the subject of the study. In this case, the researcher tried to use one class that consisted of 32 students. The gathered data used in order to figure out whether or not the experimental group achieved a good result than the control group on students’ speaking mastery of the second graders of SMAN 7 Semarang. Based on the pre-observation and pre-test conducted by the researcher, it can be identified that the English-speaking enthusiasm of the second graders students at SMA 7 Semarang was still low. It should be improved by implementing a teaching technique which can overcome the problems. In implementing the teaching learning process, the researcher used guessing games to improve the students’ Speaking enthusiasm.
