Abstract

Lesson planning has been a common issue for an English teacher as a lesson plan maker within the terms of the 2013 curriculum. To achieve the 2013 national curriculum goals, teachers needed to be able to make good, detailed lesson plans that would help them teach and learn with their students in ways that were effective, interesting, and fun. However, I found that some studies in the same field rarely paying attention to the relation of the lesson plans with the 2013 curriculum as well as Bloom’s Taxonomy in the learning objectives, which is very important in a lesson plan. Thus, I try to find out the quality of the lesson plan made by the English teacher of nine grader students of SMP N 1 Ungaran in the academic year of 2019/2020 referring to the 2013 curriculum and Bloom’s Taxonomy. I provide a qualitative research design that used a descriptive approach to explain or to get information about the 2013 curriculum lesson plans developed by the English teachers and the appropriateness of the lesson plan with Bloom's Taxonomy. Content analysis checklist, written documentation, including interviews as research instruments in the context of gathering the necessary data for the study. The result shows that four lesson plans present 76% of the components of the lesson plan based on the 2013 curriculum, while the rests present 85% components of the lesson plans since they mentioned the learning objectives in the lesson plans. This shows that the lesson plans made by the English teacher of nine grader students of SMP N 1 Ungaran in the academic year of 2019/2020 can be categorized as “good” lesson plans
