Abstract

Quality environmental education in the current formation era is a determining factor in producing people who have the competence and ability to develop environmental care characters. Through animated videos, it is hoped that students can continue to develop the values of environmental education and shape the character of caring for the environment, which is expected in the effort to form the character of caring for the environment, which will continue to be carried out well. This research aims to (1) determine the feasibility level of animated video media, so that it is feasible as a learning media for environmental education for SMA Negeri 6 Semarang, (2) find out the effectiveness of using animated video media in shaping environmental care characters in SMA Negeri 6 Semarang. This research is a quantitative research with data collection techniques through questionnaires, observations and test instruments. The population used in this study were students of SMA Negeri 6 Semarang in class XI as many as 72 classes which were divided into 2 classes. Determination of this sample by random sampling technique. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis and percentage descriptive analysis. The research design used was pre-testpost-test control design. The results of the research and discussion calculations show (1) the validity results show that animated video media is very feasible with a score percentage of 95.2% from validator 1, namely Aprilia, and 84.5% from validator 2, namely Rusdiyanti. . The test results of the animation media show. (2) the effectiveness of the developed video obtained from the results of the Ttest Sig (2-tailed) the results of the pre-test and post-test 0.000 <0.05. Based on the analysis and discussion in this study, it can be concluded that the results of the media validation of the two validators showed a very feasible percentage and deserved to be tested. While the results of the calculation of the effectiveness of the animated video media, there is a significant difference between the control class and the experimental class, thus the animated video developed is effective in increasing the students' environmental care character.
