Abstract

The existence of Islamic religious music ‘SNADA’ with different genres, shown with a cappella without musical accompaniment. Snada was existed in 1991-2010, the existence of SNADA is quite interesting to explore. The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the development of religious music in Indonesia, (2) the development of SNADA religious music group, (3) SNADA and Islamic religious music on campus. The method used in this research was the historical research method. The historical research method is a process to examine and analyze critically, the goal is to ensure the truth of the object under study. The first step in historical research is data collection or heuristics. The results of the research collected in form of primary data and secondary data relating to SNADA as SNADA the Inspiration of Nasyid Religious Music of Campuses in Semarang 1991-2010. The next step, data analysis with source criticism, both external criticism and internal criticism, followed by interpretation of the data. The final stage is done by historiography or data presentation in written form. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded: (1) Islamic religious music in Indonesia appears in the month of Ramadan and various types of Islamic religious music are displayed. (2) SNADA was established in 1991, SNADA brought a new color to Islamic religious music by presenting a cappella nasyid music. At first the SNADA group was called Trio Aps (Trio Office Administration and Secretary), then changed to SNADA. The 2000s became the golden age of SNADA so that it was awarded the Platinum Award from BlackBoard Neo Sholawat. (3) SNADA has inspired several campus music groups in Semarang with their vocal processing techniques.
