Abstract

The development of teaching materials in the form of local history-based booklets about the history of Islamic figures in Cirebon is an alternative form of history learning. MAN 1 Kota Cirebon is one of the schools that has implemented the 2013 Curriculum, with the development of teaching materials this booklet can be used as an alternative teaching material used by teachers other than LKS. In addition, it can help students understand the course of an event supported by material that is packaged in a more interesting and denser way. Material History of Islamic figures is one of the local history materials that contains values that shape the character and identity of students. However, the material has not been conveyed in detail to students. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of teaching materials at MAN 1 kota Cirebon, to determine the design of local historybased booklet products, and to determine the effectiveness of local history-based booklets. The method used in this research is the Research and Development method. With several development steps, namely (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) booklet design development, (4) booklet design validation, (5) booklet design revision, (6) booklet product trial, (7) booklet revision, (8) booklet final product. The data in this study were obtained using interviews, validator questionnaires, teacher questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the development of local historybased booklet teaching materials for the History of Islamic Figures in Cirebon was successful by looking at the results of the feasibility of local history-based booklets according to material expert validators at 86.6%, media experts at 86.6%, history teachers at 86.6% 96%, and the response of students' interest in local history-based booklets that were developed was 81.6%. So that this local history-based booklet teaching material can be used as an alternative teaching material at MAN 1 Kota Cirebon, especially for class X.
