Abstract

The many expressions experienced by humans are very interesting when visualized in works of art because they depict diverse characteristics. These characteristics can be distinguished from facial expressions such as laughing, angry, smiling, and frowning. Based on this, the writer tries to respond to potential expressions that have been experienced and felt such as desire, anxiety, joy, satisfaction, anxiety, and so on. This is interesting to be used as an idea in the work because apart from being a means of expression, it is also a self-reflection on the strengths and weaknesses that the author experiences. The selection of these themes and works is based on the lack of student interest in relief artworks so that it is expected to arouse the interest of other students to be interested in relief artworks. The stages of work are divided into three, namely the pre-creation stage, the creation stage, and the post-creation stage. The pre-creation stage includes the search for ideas and data collection by observation, interviews and documentation. The creation stage includes modeling and printing works. While the post-creation stage is the implementation of the exhibition and the development plan. This study project produced ten works of relief art by using different colors in each of his works according to the intended expression. The author uses a realist approach in his work, which emphasizes expression and facial changes such as folds, bumps, and curves on the face that change according to the expression displayed. The author hopes that the students of the Department of Fine Arts UNNES are able to present works of art with fresh ideas so that they can inspire other students.
