Abstract

One of the successes in the learning process carried out is related to the motivation of every student. Learning motivation is very much needed by every student in learning, especially when learning is carried out online, which in its implementation is often required to be more motivated. This research purposes to find out how the learning motivation of class X students of SMA Kesatrian 2 Semarang in japanese language online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method. The sample in this research were all students of class X science and social studies with 195 students. Data collection techniques used are documentation and questionnaires. The questionnaire in this research consisted of 8 indicators with 29 statement items. The validity used is content validity using expert judgment and reliability testing using the Cronbach's Alpha formula assisted by the SPSS 23 application. The data analysis technique used is to calculate the percentage of the scores that have been obtained. Based on the research results, indicators of learning motivation included in the very good category are 1) Readiness (83.69%), 2) Encouragement (81.91%). Then the indicators of learning motivation included in the good category are 1) Concentration (79%), 2) Spirit (71.86%), 3) Curiosity (70.35%), 4) Never give up (79.34%), 5) Confidence (76.55%), 6) Independence (73.08%). The average percentage score obtained is 76.97% and is included in the good category. This shows that most of class X students of SMA Kesatrian 2 Semarang have good learning motivation in Japanese language online learning.
