Abstract

In Indonesia, since the Covid-19 pandemic began in March 2020, learning at all levels of education has been conducted online. Including in SMA Negeri 15 Semarang. Learning is carried out using the WhatsApp Group, Zoom Meeting, and Smart Libels platforms. Based on the results of the preliminary study, it is known that there are problems with various students' perceptions of the online media used, students' views on Japanese language lessons are also very diverse, there are those who like and are interested in Japanese, but on the other hand there are those who don't like it. The study was conducted to find out in more detail how students perceive the use of online media at SMA Negeri 15 Semarang. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The population in this study were students of class XI SMA Negeri 15 Semarang, while the sample was 36 students from class XI MIPA 6 SMA Negeri 15 Semarang. Data collection is done by using a documentation and questionnaire. The purpose of using the questionnaire method is to determine student perceptions of the use of online media at SMA Negeri 15 Semarang. The validity of the instrument in this study was carried out with construct validity. The reliability test in this study used the Cronbach Alpha formula. Based on the results of the study, student perceptions of learning Japanese online generally showed positive perceptions and some were negative. This result is indicated by the scale value which is above 92.5, but some are still below 92.5. Meanwhile, student perceptions of the use of online media in general also showed positive perceptions and some were negative. In terms of effectiveness, Zoom Meeting and Smart Libels are still superior to WhatsApp Groups. Overall, students' perceptions of the use of online media at SMA Negeri 15 Semarang are included in the positive category (3,749). This is indicated by the total score of respondents which lies between a score of 3,330 (Median) and 4,329 (Quartile 3), which is the limit score in the positive attitude category. This means that overall respondents view positively the use of online media at SMA Negeri 15 Semarang.
