Abstract
E-learning is electronic learning supported by internet networks that the students can access wherever they are located. The teaching and learning process has changed from face-to-face learning into online learning during this pandemic. The teacher must apply appropriate teaching methods and strategies that suit this online learning. This study aims to analyze how the teacher applies e-learning and students perceive of the teacher's application of e-learning in English teaching�learning activities during the covid-19 pandemic at Junior High School. A case study qualitative approach is used in this study through observation, interview, and questionnaire. The research data were collected through the observation during English teaching-learning activities, interviews with an English teacher, and questionnaires distributed to students of ninth grade A. The findings show that the learning environment in this learning process is synchronous and asynchronous learning. The teacher applied a discovery learning strategy and gave students an assignment during the teaching-learning activities. The teacher used technology media such as Google Meet, Youtube, WhatsApp, Google Classroom, PPT, and Ms. Word during the teaching-learning process. However, the application of those technologies still has advantages and disadvantages. The benefits of it include the teacher and students getting new experiences and knowledge about technology in learning. Then, the factor that becomes obstacles and weaknesses in the application of e-learning in terms of economy and geographical. In addition, the student's perception toward the teacher's application of e-learning is positive, with an average result of 87%
