Abstract

Currently, the ability of using media in teaching is necessary because of the migration from offline to online learning. Media are needed in the teaching and learning process in order to make the students easier in learning. Moreover, due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian government has established a policy of working from home, making the learning should be done via online. To reduce the burden on teaching online, The Ministry of Education and Culture implies the teachers use teaching media. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify teachers' perceptions of the use of English teaching media. The participants of the study were 30 English teachers from the city of Jepara. This final project was a descriptive qualitative. The primary data of this study were gathered using questionnaires and interviews. A 20 close-ended questionnaire was distributed to 30 respondents, and six questions of interview was distributed to 6 respondents. The analysis of the data was carried out by using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). TAM is underlying concept designed by Davis (1986). The findings were presented into four factors: those are teachers' perceived ease of access, teachers’ perceived usefulness, teachers’ feeling when using English teaching media, and teachers’ satisfaction on the use of English teaching media in the process of teaching and learning. Based on the findings, the teachers had positive responses and knowledgeable about the use of media in teaching. They were satisfied with media use and mostly believed that media help them conduct better English learning. In other words, English teaching media is a suitable medium as the learning tool in the teaching and learning process.
