Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding (ASI) affects infant growth and development. Information on exclusive ASI in Kudus conveys manually through direct extension, health worker information session, and leaflet media. There is no an android-based exclusive ASI consultation application system available. Pregnant mother’s knowledge of exclusive ASI is only 53%, which is in low category. Therefore, an innovation is required in android application-based executive ASI consultation to improve pregnant mothers’ knowledge of and attitude towards exclusive ASI. The research aims to analyze factual model of exclusive ASI consultation, analyze a development model of android application-based exclusive ASI consultation, analyze effectiveness of a development model of android application-based exclusive ASI consultation, and produce a development model of android application-based exclusive ASI consultation to improve pregnant mothers’ knowledge of and attitude towards exclusive ASI in Kudus. The research and development uses mixed method research with three research stages, namely introduction, development, and effectiveness testing. The model effectiveness testing employs one group pretest-posttest design. The trial subjects are selected using random sampling. The limited trial research sample is 32 people, whereas the extensive trial sample is 35 people. The research instruments consist of validation sheets of android-based consultation application system, black box testing sheets, suggestion/comment sheets of validation from experts and pregnant mothers, questionnaire sheets of knowledge and attitude.
