Abstract

Obesity is a condition that occurs due to an imbalance in the number of calories in the body where the calories that enter more than those released and the rest of those calories are deposited in body fat. Obesity and overweight are quite a problem among adolescents. Obese teenagers can be diagnosed with diseases commonly experienced by adults, such as type 2 diabetes and hypertension and are at risk of a number of serious health problems, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, asthma, and some types of cancer.. The purpose of this research is to analyse the direct and indirect influence of knowledge, parental education, allowance of obesity through fast food consumption of adolescents. The types of this study are quantitative research design with case control study approach and using pathway analysis. The population in this study is all of Adolescents in Badung while the number of samples is as much as 100 adolescents aged 12-17 years old in the Badung Regency area. Sampling techniques with fixed disease sampling. The results showed that the knowledge directly affects the obesity incidence with the value of (b=1.29; CI 95%=0.18 to 2.40; p=0.023), there is no significant influence between parental education and obesity with value (b= -0.92; CI95%= -2.04 to 0.20; p=0.108). Allowance typically indirectly to obesity though fast food consumption with value (b=1.34; CI 95%=0.46 to 2.22; p=0.003). Fast food consumption directly affects obesity with the value of (b=1.22; CI95%=0.10 to 2.34; p=0.032). Allowance is the most influential factors in obesity with the mediated fast food consumption, the total value of the effect of indirect influence is (2.86).
