Abstract

Bima Regency is located on the island of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB), which is an area that has the potential for sufficient cultural and natural resources. Cultural potential is the most important part of the attraction of local, regional, national and international tourists if it can be developed into culture-based sports tourism. The purpose of this research is to analyze; 1) Zone Arrangement. 2) Cultural Potential. 3) Potential for Cultural Uniqueness. 4) Bima Regency Government Policy on the development of culture-based sports tourism. The method used in this research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach and symbolic interaction. Data collection techniques used in this study, using observation, interviews and documentation. Data validity techniques used were source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation. Data analysis techniques used data collection, data reduction, and conclusions. The research results show, that: 1) the arrangement of the area for the development of sports tourism is located in 6 locations, (a) the Lariti Beach area, (b) the Palibelo area, (c) the Asakota Fortress area, (d) the Papa beach area, (e) the Oi area Marai, (f) Uma Lengge Area, (g) Nisa Bea Area. 2) The Cultural Potential of the Bima Regency Society consists of, (a) Gantao, (b) Buja Kadanda, (c) Parise, (d) Pacoa Jara, (e) Sokasari, (f) Lanca and (g) Manca. 3) The potential for cultural uniqueness of the Bima community is located in Wawo District, Bima Regency, namely Taji Tuta. 4) The policy of the Bima Regency Government has not been maximal, it can be measured from the provision of facilities, infrastructure and security. The development of culture-based sports tourism is the most important part in optimizing regional development through RIPPDA. The conclusions and suggestions in this research are: 1) The arrangement of the area for the development of sports tourism must be formulated carefully, 2) The cultural potential of the community has been supported to be developed into sports tourism, 3) The potential for cultural uniqueness must be positioned as a selling power to increase the APBD, 4 ) Government policy must be massive based on regional potential
