Abstract

Association or club as a training ground in the field of sports, is the spearhead of coaching so far. In a special branch of track swimming, club meetings are very important in determining the achievements of athletes. The club as a forum for coaching athletes that are managed in order to integrate the human resources in it consisting of athletes, coaches, assistant coaches and club administrators. The purpose of this study is to analyze the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) from management and process sources coaching management. The design used in this study is qualitative. The focus of the study was discussing athletes, the coach also discussed athletes against seven achievement swimming clubs that actively fostered the sport of swimming in the area of Sleman Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data obtained through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Analysis of research data using qualitative descriptive analysis with Atlas Schyff's QDA (Qualitative Data Analysis) program. The results of the study are: 1) Having strength in coach quality, and athlete quality. 2) Having weaknesses in the aspects of management, competence, and infrastructure. 3) Has the opportunity to transform local government support, KONI, PRSI, student interest and parent support. 4) Having challenges threats in establishing cooperation with sponsors, and conflicts of interest as students with academic activities, and as athletes who need time for involvement in training integration. The conclusions of the study are: 1) The internal condition of the swimming club from seven aspects reviewed, four of which became strengths (positive), the other three weaknesses (negative). 2) External conditions from the six aspects reviewed, four classified as opportunities (positive), two others classified as threat (negative).
