Abstract

The learning purpose for the students are that they obtain the 4C characters, which are Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Creativity and Innovation. Critical Thinking and Creativity really need to be applied by students in their learning progress. Students are facilitated to apply Critical Thinking and Creativity with learning resources from the surrounding environment, such as study of Plantae, one of which is the Pteridophyta Division. There are not many Pteridophyta species that can be found in the surrounding environment, therefore identification of Pteridophyta in humid habitats such as mountains is necessary. Mount Merbabu National Park with low temperatures, high humidity, and high rate rainfall has high potential of rich Pteridophyta species. Pteridophyta identification of Mount Merbabu National Park was developed in the form of modules. The purpose of this study are to analyze the species abundance of Pteridophyta in Mount Merbabu National Park, to analyze the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the Pteridophyta module which was compiled based on the results identification in the Mount Merbabu National Park. This research is a Research and Development (R & D) with ADDIE method (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The study of Pteridophyta species abundance was conducted in the Mount Merbabu National Park on Selo hiking trail, and implemented modules based on the results of this research at SMA Negeri 1 Getasan. The results showed the abundance of Pteridophyta species in Mount Merbabu National Park, a total of 41 species belonging to 14 classes and 2 families. The Pteridophyta Module of the Mount Merbabu National Park is declared valid, practical, and effective. The validity of the module based on the material expert is 80% feasible, while the module validity based on the media expert is 98% very feasible. The practicality of the module based on interviews with teachers SMA Negeri 1 Getasan is practical and the student response is 82.7%, the criteria are very practical. The effectiveness of the module is based on students passing rates, that showed 97% of students passed. The developed module of Pteridophyta has some advantages compared to others, the abundance of species in Pteridophyta completed with organs such as leaves, stems, roots, sorus, rolled young leaves and their habitats, equipped with worksheets that can develop students’s critical thinking skills, and HOTS evaluation questions
