Abstract

Mathematical literacy of students in Indonesia is still low. Students still have difficulty applying mathematical concepts to solve math problems in everyday life. It is necessary to do innovations and improvements in mathematics learning, especially those related to the application of mathematical literacy indicators in terms of students' mathematical habits of mind. Quick on the Draw learning with the SPUR approach is expected to support the achievement of students' mathematical literacy. This study aims to determine the quality of learning using the Quick on the Draw model with the SPUR approach, to analyze the influence of mathematical habits of mind on mathematical literacy skills, and to analyze students' mathematical literacy abilities and mathematical habits of mind in learning using the Quick on the Draw model with the SPUR approach. The research was conducted using a sequential explanatory method, namely collecting quantitative data then collecting qualitative data and analyzing the two data. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri 5 Wholesale and implemented in class VIIB with Quick on the Draw learning treatment with SPUR approach and class VIID with Problem Based Learning learning treatment. The six students qualitative research subjects were obtained from the mathematical habits of mind questionnaire of the students. The quantitative data were tested using the average test, the proportion test, the average difference test, the different proportion test, the average difference test, and the effect test. Meanwhile, the qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that (1) Quick on the Draw learning with the SPUR approach was declared quality towards students' mathematical literacy skills. (2) there is an effect of mathematical habits of mind on students' mathematical literacy skills in Quick on the Draw learning with the SPUR approach. (3) Students belonging to the high mathematical habits of mind group are very capable of mastering the four components of mathematical literacy, namely communication, mathematics, reasoning and argument, as well as formulating and solving problems. There are three other components that are mastered but with some insignificant shortcomings, namely the representation component, the use of symbols, formula language, techniques, and operations, and the use of mathematical tools. Students who have mathematical habits of mind are mastering the components of communication, mathematics, and formulating and solving problems. Meanwhile, there are four components that have not been mastered properly, namely the components of representation, reasoning and arguments, use of symbols, formula language, techniques and operations, and use of mathematical tools. Students who have low mathematical habits of mind show that literacy skills are still not good. Of the seven components of mathematical literacy, students are only able to master one component quite well, namely communication, while the other five components are mathematics, representation, reasoning and arguments, formulating and solving problems, use of symbols, formula language, techniques and operations, and the use of mathematical tools has not been well mastered
