Abstract

The scenario of this research provided autonomous learning opportunity freely. The learners were given chance to ask anyone included the teachers via online. This research aims to 1) describe the causal factors and hindrances of the learners’ learning autonomy so they experienced difficulty to think creatively, 2) the learning effectiveness without face-to-face activity with the contextual module via mentoring toward the creative thinking skill. This research is a research combination of sequential explanatory design. The population of this research consisted of seventh graders of Public JHS 31 Semarang in academic year 2018/2019. The research sample consisted of the seventh graders of the VII H class. The subjects consisted of 6 learners. They were selected based on the learning autonomy categories. Techniques of collecting data were test, interview, and documentation. The findings showed the causal factors and the learning autonomy hindrances could be solved by promoting mentoring. The learning autonomy assisted by contextual module and the mentoring was effective. Then, the proportional completeness test was z_count > z_table with z_count between 2.35 > 1.64. The test of influence obtained a score of 0.000 < 0.05 while the Gain test was 40.5%, experiencing improvement. The learners with high learning autonomy could meet 4 indicators is indicator originality, elaboration, fluency and flexibility while the other learners only could meet 2 indicators is indicator originality and flexibility but unfortunately they had mistakes in other 2 indicators. The moderate and low learning autonomy learners could meet 2-3 indicators is indicator originality, elaboration and flexibility. However, they could not meet an indicator
