Abstract

The low problem solving ability of grade VII students in their daily lives is the low planning of students' learning independence. This study applies independent learning with mentoring assisted with entrepreneurial nuances. Through intensive assignments at the agreed time a meeting is held to share knowledge, ask questions because of problems, and a contral test is carried out to measure student learning progress. The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the initial conditions of problem solving ability and student learning independence, (2) to obtain independent learning with effective assistance and to produce an entrepreneurial module product. This research uses mixed methods with embedded together. The subject of this research is VII grade students of MTs Negeri 1 Kudus with two classes as experiments and controls. The research variables are learning independence and problem solving skills. Taken by questionnaire, observation and test and processed by completeness test, test of influence, and comparative test and increase learning independence. The results showed that the students 'initial problems with mathematical problem-solving ability problems, this is because students' independence of learning was very minimal. After the self-study was carried out with the help it achieved effectively which was marked by 1) the average value of problem solving students 80.17 exceeded the KKM limit, and the comparison of students who completed the KKM reached more than 75% namely 86.67%, the average score was far better than the ability to solve the problem of the control classis 71; 2) there is a positive influence of students 'learning independence on students' problem solving skills of 83.1%; 3) there is an increase in the independence of student learning with the average gain 58% interviews, that's these successes are the formation of a spirit of independent learning through modules. Fill in the module. Cultivating the character of the soul that encourages learning Learning difficulties are solved through mentoring. So this independent learning with mentoring encourages adult students in science
