Abstract

There was a change in the livelihoods of generation Z on farmer family in Desa Karangmalang. This study aims to (1) analyze the factors of change on the livelihood choices of generation Z children of farmer families in Desa Karangmalang (2) Analyze agricultural system practices of generation Z on farmer families in Desa Karangmalang (3) Analyze the impact of social changes in farmer families in Desa Karangmalang with the change on the livelihood options of generation Z children of farmer families. This research uses qualitative research, a case study approach, with a positive sampling technique for selecting informants, meaning that the selection of informants is selected based on special characteristics. Then the data is collected using observation techniques, interviews and documents, then the collected data will be analyzed using qualitative analysis, namely by describing the research results in the form of words or sentences so that the researcher describes in depth the results of the research according to the actual conditions that occur in the field The research targets were generation Z children and farmer families. The results showed that the shift in livelihood choices was motivated by the knowledge of generation Z children about farmers, the economic value of the farming family, and the social status of the farmer families towards generation Z children. which changes the times. Generation Z children have less knowledge of farmers who can provide economic value welfare to meet secondary and tertiary needs. Generation Z children feel they have a high social status if their lifestyle needs are met. These factors influence the social changes of generation Z children to choose livelihoods other than farmers. The theory analysis uses the theory of social change. The shift in livelihood options is motivated by factors of social change in the form of income
