Abstract

Enrichment books are the books that can support success in learning. One of the problems often faced by educators in learning to write is determining the appropriate teaching materials in the form of textbook enrichment to help students achieve basic competencies. Enrichment books writing negotiation texts based on 21st century competencies are very needed in the process of brazing critical, creative, communicative and collaborative powers which are implemented in learning. The formulation of the problem in this research is how are the needs, principles, profile of enrichment books, and acceptance of enrichment books in writing negotiation texts based on 21st century competencies for high school students?. The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs, principles, book profiles, and acceptability of enrichment books in writing negotiation texts based on 21st century competencies for high school students. The research design used in this research was research and development (R&D) which included seven stages of research, including (1) potential and problems, (2) information and data collection, (3) book profile design, (4) book profile validation test, (5) revision of book profile, (6) limited trial, (7) final revision of book profile. The data was collected by means of structured interview guidelines, validation tests, and product revisions. The data that had been obtained was collected and analyzed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of this study covered four things. First, the need for enrichment books to write negotiation texts based on 21st century competencies of students and educators expects books with feasibility that include aspects of material, presentation, language, and graphics. Second, the principles of developing enrichment books consist of aspects of the feasibility of the material/content which include the principles of completeness, easiness, suitability, accuracy, supporting material, relevance, usefulness and competence of the 21st century. Presentation feasibility aspects include systematic, learning completeness, and interesting principles. The linguistic aspects include the principle of conformity and communicative. The graphic aspects include conformity, interesting and creative principles. Third, the profile of enrichment book for writing negotiation text based on 21st century competence for high school students with the title "Skilled in Writing Negotiation Texts Based on 21st Century Competencies" is in viii accordance with input and suggestions from experts used as the initial revision of the enrichment book profile including the title and book cover color, manual for book use, table of contents, appearance of KI / KD, use of punctuation and numbering, and emphasis on aspects of 21st century competence. Fourth, the acceptance of enrichment book products is indicated by (1) enrichment books to help educators and students understand and increase knowledge of the material for writing negotiation texts, and (2) the presentation of enrichment books is based on to the characteristics and level of development of students. Based on the research results, enrichment books writing negotiation texts based on 21st century competencies for high school students are suitable for use as reference books and enrichment in learning. The competency aspects of the 21st century that are integrated in learning to write negotiation texts can bind critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative skills that can be applied in everyday life.
