Abstract
Enrichment books are one part of teaching materials that become an important component in learning as a complement to the main textbooks that have been prepared based on the curriculum. In learning Banjaran Bima puppet story text material, the available material sources are still lacking and not in accordance with the learning needs in schools, so it is necessary to develop and prepare Banjaran Bima puppet story enrichment books by prioritizing character education content. The values of character education that are stored a lot in puppet stories need to be explored and integrated in learning to build the character of students. Through drama-based texts, the development of the Banjaran Bima puppet story enrichment book is more effective as a media channeling material compared to other text genres such as the wayang story prose text. Through the wayang story material arranged in the drama text genre, students are actively involved in learning and are also involved in the storyline presented. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the characteristics of the Banjaran Bima puppet story book enrichment needs based on drama text containing character education for students of SMA/SMK, (2) presents the preparation and development of a puppet enrichment book in banjaran Bima based on drama text with character education for students of SMA/SMK, and (3) shows the results of the effectiveness test of the effectiveness of the product development of the Banjaran Bima puppet story enrichment book based on drama text with character education for students of SMA/SMK. This research was conducted with a research and development design. In accordance with the research needs, the research stage was modified into 8 stages, namely (1) finding potentials and problems, (2) gathering information, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design improvements, (6) product trials, (7) product revisions; and (8) product developing. The need to develop a Banjaran Bima puppet story enrichment book based on drama texts containing character education according to the perceptions of educators and students is based on the material aspects, linguistic aspects, presentation aspects and aspects of graphics. The development model is in the form of a Banjaran Bima puppet story enrichment book based on drama text with character education consisting of the structure of the beginning, content and end. The initial part consists of the title page of the book, the front page (publishing), the preface page and the contents page. The contents of the prototype consisted of introductory material covering the nature of puppets, puppet literature learning, and ix character education, as well as the main part in the form of a drama text of the Banjaran Bima puppet story consisting of six plays namely (1) Bima Bungkus, (2) Bale Sigala-gala , (3) Dewa Ruci, (4) Bima Suci, (5) Bima Swarga, and (6) Jagal Abilawa. The final section consists of conclusions, suggestions, author information and bibliography. Enrichment books are effectively used in learning to understand the contents of the Banjaran Bima puppet story. This can be seen from the results of paired t-test tests in SMKN Jateng di Semarang and SMAN 5 Semarang. The posttest results showed better results compared to the pretest scores. The average post-test score is 80,27, while the average pretest score is 40,27. After calculating the paired t-test test formula, the value is 7,271. Suggestions that can be recommended for educators are to be able to use and further apply this enrichment book as a complement to existing text books in accordance with the conditions and environment of each school. This enrichment book can help students improve their understanding of the content of the Banjaran Bima puppet story in more detail. In addition, other researchers can conduct further research activities in order to obtain wider input. This input can be used as an ingredient in improving the quality of enrichment book products
