Abstract

Curriculum is an important component of education, both formal and nonformal education. Curriculum become a foundation of all education process with continuing developing process in both creating a new curriculum and developing existed curriculum. Curriculum development is a part of contribution from curriculum developer to education. In order to develop adaptive curriculum model for tutors in tuition center to enhance pedagogical competency, this research stated for research purposes as follows; (1) to analyze the reality of existed curriculum teacher training to enhance pedagogical competency in tuition center, (2) to develop adaptive curriculum model for tutors in tuition center to enhance pedagogical competency, (3) to organize adaptive curriculum model for tutors in tuition center to enhance pedagogical competency, (4) to evaluate adaptive curriculum model for tutors in tuition center to enhance pedagogical competency This research used research and development method by Sugiyono. Validation technics used in this research are validation by expert and focused group discussion. The subject in this study are tutors, students and the owner of the institution. According to the result of the research (1) curriculum document for tutors training is not structured yet, (2) curriculum model needed for tutors consist of seven main subjects, (3) the organization used is separated curriculum, (4) according to the validation, adaptive curriculum model for tutors in tuition center to enhance pedagogical competency is proper to apply. The result of this study is product of document of adaptive curriculum model for tutors in tuition center to enhance pedagogical competency that suitable to tutors’ need. Furthermore, this study proof some curriculum development theories, which the development of curriculum needs to continue in creating a new curriculum or developing existed curriculum.
