Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze students' conceptual understanding using the Guided Discovery Model with SETS approach using the Two-Tier Test. This study used an experimental research design. The samples were SD Negeri Payak as the experimental class and SD Negeri 1 Terong as the control class.. The results showed that there was an increase in students 'conceptual understanding after guided discovery learning with the SETS approach on theme 3 sub-themes 1. The analysis using two-tier tests resulted in students' understanding of concepts, namely 66.67% of conceptual understanding, type 1 misunderstanding of 12, 22%, misunderstanding of the concept of type 2 was 8.51%, and did not understand the concept of 12.60%. Students who understand the concept have six indicators of good understanding, namely interpreting, exemplifying, classifying, drawing inference, comparing and explaining. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that guided discovery learning with the SETS approach is effective in increasing understanding of science concepts in elementary students. This is indicated by the understanding of the science concept of students with guided discovery learning with the SETS approach that has achieved classical learning completeness, the average understanding of the concept and the quality of guided discovery with the SETS approach are included in the very good category
