Abstract

Learning in grade IV SDN Tingkir Lor 02 Salatiga still used conventional method that only require active participation of one party, which is the teacher. School’s facilities and infrastructure had not been used to the fullest such as LCD so that it made students feel bored and less active. Based on observation at the classes, the results of tests on Environmental Change material in class IV A had 63% of students and Class IV B had 60% of students whose score were less than KKM of 70. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ICT learning media The Heroes on the learning results and students’ activities for grade IV SDN Tingkir Lor 02 Salatiga. The research method was using Quasi Experimental Design Control Group type Pretest-Posttest. Samples for this study were students class IV A as control group and IV B as experimental group. Data collection techniques consist of primary data, which were learning results and students’ activities. The instrument for measuring learning results of cognitive aspects was test, and students’ activities with observation sheet instruments. Secondary data includes students’ identities and initial conditions were collected through documentation and interview with teachers. Data analysis was using descriptive and quantitative analysis with program SPSS. The results of the final stage analysis show the tcount as 6.284 which means that ICT media The Heroes is effective in improving learning results. The average value of N-Gain in control class is 0.23 while experiment class is 0.41. Students’ activities showed a score of 20.4 on observation sheet with good criteria, meanwhile students’ positive responses showed a score of 3.7 with very high criteria. In conclution, learning with media ICT The Heroes is more effective than conventional learning method, improvement of learning achievements, it has an effect on students’ activities, also receiving positive responses from the students.
