Abstract

The implementation of TQM in pesantren is the right step in improving the quality of pesantren education. This happens because of the continuous improvement efforts from all sides. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the involvement of the entire team in the implementation of TQM in Darul Arafah Raya pesantren in achieving the vision and mission of the Darul Arafah Raya pesantren. This case study research uses a qualitative approach. The research subjects were the leaders of the Darul Arafah Raya Islamic boarding school, the Darul Arafah Raya pesantren foundation and the teaching staff (ustad / ustazh). Collecting data using interview methods, observation, and document study. The data were analyzed using the interactive model approach of Miles and Huberman (2015). Researchers tested the credibility of the data through triangulation of sources and methods. The results showed that: the involvement of the entire team in the implementation of TQM in Darul Arafah Raya Islamic boarding school had been carried out well, the whole team participated in the implementation of programs and policies in an effort to solve problems by meeting customer needs. The leadership of the Darul Arafah Raya pesantren has an important role in involving the entire team in implementing TQM at the Darul Arafah Raya pesantren by providing the opportunity to be involved in solving problems at the pesantren and the leadership has managerial skills and participates in the supervision of every activity and program of the pesantren and the ability to meet HR needs in Islamic boarding schools and education customers (students, guardians of students, and the community). The involvement of the entire team is supported by the creation of "kinship" relationships which are efforts and solutions by involving the entire team in implementing TQM so that it is hoped that the vision and mission of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic boarding school can meet the needs of customers (santri, santri guardian, community). It is recommended: the leadership, foundation staff, and teaching staff (ustad / ustazh) should have a strong commitment in an effort to meet the needs of education customers, there is good coordination and communication with internal and external parties of the Darul Arafah Raya pesantren.
