Abstract

Teachers’ performance is an urgent matter to achieve the quality of Indonesian education. Maximum teachers’ performance is a dream for all schools, thus it is important to know the factors that influence teachers’ performance. Some of the teachers’ performance factors investigated in the study: principals’ leadership, competence, organization culture and job Satisfaction. The study aims to analyze the influences of principals’ leadership, organization culture, competence on teachers’ performance through job satisfaction of private junior high school teachers in South Brebes. . The total population of the study were 108 from S.1 teachers and the total sample were 78 teachers which were taken by the Slovin formula with e = 6% (0.06). The sampling technique used Proportional Random Sampling. Data collection used questionnaire and analytical methods used path analysis with SPSS. The results showed that the principal's leadership had a positive and significant influence on teacher’s performance through job satisfaction, organizational culture had a positive and significant influence on teacher performance through job satisfaction, and competency had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance through job satisfaction with a significance level of 0.05 or 5. %. These mean that the principal's leadership, school culture, and increased competence will affect job satisfaction, thus teacher performance will increase too. Based on the results of research and discussion, several suggestions are put forward to several parties including; (1) teachers as agents of change in education should continue to improve teachers’ performance starting from the process of planning, implementation and evaluation as an effort to improve the progress of Indonesian education; (2) schools should have good principals’ leader, organizational culture, and teachers’ competence in order to they feel satisfied, the higher the level of satisfaction will improve teachers’ performance; (3) the future researchers, the research can be used as a reference in conducting further research, especially teachers’ performance by using the some factors are leadership, organization culture, competence, and job satisfaction.
