Abstract
This study aims at analyzing the struggle of women that dealing with the feminism theme which tells about the toughness and struggle of a woman to have independence in Nawal El Saadawi’s novel Woman at Point Zero. This study uses the qualitative analysis that focuses on the word or explanatory reasoning. The data were collected by reading, identifying, inventorying, analyzing, and reporting using liberal and radical feminism by Rosemarie Tong. The result of this study were Woman’s Independence Represented in Saadawi’s ‘Woman at Point Zero’, Main character’s personal traits and physical appearance, Firdaus VS Family and Tradition, Firdaus VS Society, Firdaus’s Independence as a Woman, Become Prostitute, Firdaus’s Alteration and Making her own money based on the feminism theory in the novel. It results the description Woman’s Independence Represented in Saadawi’s ‘Woman at Point Zero’. Those findings were based on the representation of the main character which actually a real person that her real life story was written by the author into a novel. Then the last findings is the description referring to the Firdaus’s independence as a woman.
