Abstract

This research is conducted reveals more values of capitalism as the result of the poverty and to reveal the effects of the capitalism on the society toward each class of people. The topic of this research is the capitalism toward children as the result of poverty represent in Francesco D’Adamo’s Iqbal. The topic of this research is the capitalism toward children as the result of poverty represented in D’Adamo’s Iqbal. The objectives of this research are: t explain how capitalism toward children and effect of capitalism toward children as result of poverty represented in D’Adamo’s Iqbal. This research used the qualitative descriptive to answer the question and explain the data. Iqbal by Francesco is used as the object of the study. The research instrument uses observation sheets, while the data collection is based on the library research. The discussion was conducted by analyzing related the phenomenon in the society by using Marxist theory the heading of sociological approach. The result in several findings as follows: 1) to explain how capitalism toward children as the result of poverty represented in D’Adamo’s Iqbal can be seen through its intrinsic elements especially the characters and their conflicts. Hussain Khan, Fatima and Iqbal are the characters that represents classes into their characteristics. Hussain Khan represents upper class; Fatima and Iqbal represents working class. Meanwhile, those two classes have some conflicts toward each other that raise the class distinction. The conflict as result of the working class have to pay their debt and they become slavery. And 2) to describe the effect of capitalism toward children as represented in D’Adamo’s Iqbal. Those are debt bondage, human trafficking, slavery, unsafe working, right for proper living, violence, defenseless, rebellion, social class level, social condition in Pakistan.
