Abstract

The vocational school based on Islamic boarding school offer graduate-producing institutions with good character and expertise according to their majors.The quasi�experimental research was aimed to examine how the language laboratory used to improve speaking skill for the eleventh grade students at SMK Roudlotul Mubtadiin Balekambang Jepara. This research using pre-test and post-test control group design with class XI TKJ and TAV as the subject of research. The participants were 44 students that divided into control and experimental group received using language laboratory as the treatment while the control group only taught using conventional method. Both of groups were given pre-test and post-test before and after the intervention. The technique of collecting data was test. The result of the study showed that students from experimental group has better learning outcome than control group. It also found that the result of t-test analysis was the value of sig.(2- tailed) 0.000<0.05. It means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the use of language laboratory in the pre-test and post-test data. , to maintain the quality of language laboratory facilities that are good, it needs to be supported by clear operational standards, professional teaching staff and technicians as well as rules for the use of language laboratories so that all the tools or equipment installed in the laboratory are well maintained and operate optimally. to support an effective, efficient and quality learning process.
