Abstract

This research used descriptive qualitative method. The researcher gathered the data using assessment instruments and questionnaires. The objectives of this research were to analyze if the English textbook entitled “When English Rings The Bell” is relevant with the three aspects of assessment based on 2013 curriculum. The function of a textbook is essential to guide the teaching and learning of the curriculum in a particular subject against the backdrop of poor teacher context knowledge. The textbooks play a fundamental role in supplementing teachers' knowledge deficits so the textbook must be relevant to the newest curriculum and students' needs. The result shows according to the research, most of material on all chapters are relevant with the aspect of assesment on 2013 curriculum. The respondents agreed that the textbook is compatible with the three aspect of assessmenst based on 2013 curriculum and releveant to be used in their daily class. For the suggestion, the teacher needs to seek out the compatibility of the textbook they about to use because the compatible textbook with curriculum, the appropriateness of textbook, and the materials in the textbook implemented in the classroom and many other ways to improve the quality of teaching and learning process are in teacher's hands. By using this book in the teaching and learning process, hopefully, a great result is compromised.
