Abstract

The background of this research is that sport climbing is a sport that is believed to contribute to Indonesia’s future development of sports. Lubuk Linggau City is home to various sports with gold medal potential, one of which is sport climbing. Since 2014, the sport of sport climbing has seen a fall in achievements at the city, provincial, and national levels. The purpose of this study is to analyze the management of the following processes: 1) planning, 2) organizing, 3) actuating, and 4) controlling. This study used a qualitative methodology. Techniques for data collection include observation, interviews, and documentation. Administrators, coaches, athletes, and parents are the data sources. The data analysis technique used data triangulation through the following steps: 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) conclusion drawing. The results: 1) the planning system for the management of the Indonesian sport climbing federation has met the categorization criteria, namely who, what, when, where and how it is done; 2) the organizing system, the management of the Indonesian sport climbing federation meets the categorization criteria, namely complete management, work mechanism, unclear job description in writing, routine activities that are discussed at the beginning of the year; 3) the implementation system (Actuating) of the management of the Indonesian sport climbing federation meets the categorization criteria, namely program implementation, achievements, carrying out planned activities, and completing 5M (man, money, method, material, machine); 4) the management system of the Indonesian sport climbing federation meets the categorization criteria, namely the existence of supervision, reporting, evaluation and monitoring. Conclusions: (1) the planning system for the management of the Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation is excellent; (2) the organizing system for the management of the Indonesian sport climbing federation is excellent; (3) the implementation system (Actuating) for the management of the Indonesian sport climbing federation; and (4) the management system of the Indonesian sport Climbing Federation.
