Abstract

The development of technology, information, and communication is growing rapidly in the 21st century. Students need 21st century learning skills in solving problems in everyday life. PISA data shows that students' higher order thinking skills, critical thinking and creative thinking are still below average. Efforts to improve 21st century learning skills can be done by presenting learning media as an alternative source of learning and media for students. Learning media that is in accordance with the development of information and communication technology is Android-based learning media. The use of Android-based media in learning can develop 21st century learning skills. This research was conducted at Al Hikmah 2 Islamic Vocational School by linking Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approaches in learning. The purpose of this study is to develop an Android-based learning media with a STEM approach. The research method used is R&D with stages, among others, potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, limited-scale test, large-scale test, and analysis. The media validity test was given to three validators as material experts and media experts. The results of the validity of the media by experts are declared very feasible. The results of the limited scale test to 12 students stated that the media was very suitable for use in learning. The results of a large-scale test conducted on 32 students on the pretest and posttest scores that have been given, the n-gain test on the critical thinking skills aspect is 0.77 with high criteria and the n-gain test on the creative thinking skills aspect is 0.79 with high criteria.
