Abstract

Competence is one of the abilities to do a job based on the ability and knowledge and is supported by the attitude required in the job. The results of interview with the deputy head of the curriculum of SMK Teuku Umar Semarang found that student competencies were still low. This study aims to analyze and illustrate how high the competency of students is from the aspects of attitude competence, and competency skills in the implementation of curriculum 2013. The population of this study was all of student of class XII of SMK Teuku Umar Semarang as many as 63 students. The sampling technique was using census sample. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The research is a quantitative descriptive research. This study used descriptive analysis with index number using SPSS Program for Windows Release 25 as the data analysis technique. The results of this study showed that the overall Student Competence has averaged a total index 78.97%. Meanwhile, the partial index indicates that the competence of attitude gets index number equal to 80.63%. Knowledge competence get index number equal to 76.85%. Skill Competence get index number equal to 79.42%. The conclusion of this research can be drawn that the student’s competence on attitude aspect, knowledge, and skill competency as a whole have reached high criteria average. Suggestions the result of this study are the teachers are encouraged to give appreciation to students who are active in class, the teacher should instill the values of character values in the students during learning activities, teachers and students should help each other develop the student’s skills, the teachers are encouraged to hold literacy activities every day for 10 minutes before learning activities start, and the school is encouraged to promote reading in the school environment
