Abstract

The number of leprosy prevalence and the number of New Case Detection Rate (NCDR) until 2019 in Cirebon City has fluctuated number. The prevalence of leprosy in 2015 in Cirebon City was 0,42 per 10.000 population. This number increased to 0,69 per 10.000 population in 2016 and decreased in 2017, 2018, and 2019, respectively to 0,51 per 10.000 population, 0,47 per 10.000 population, and 0,47 per 10.000 population. The NCDR of Cirebon City in 2015 was 5,53 per 100.000 population. This number continued to decreased in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, respectively to 5,48 per 100.000 population, 5,11 per 100.000 population, 4,43 per 100.000 population, and 4,38 per 100.000 population. In Gunung Jati Regional Hospital Cirebon, the proportion of leprosy cases undergoing outpatient care in the skin and genital clinic in 2017 was 1,47%, increasing to 1,96% in 2018 and 2% in 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the severity of grade 2 disability in leprosy patients based on time units. This type of research was a type of observational study with a retrospective cohort design. The sampling technique in this study is simple random sampling technique. The sample in this study were 38 respondents. The instrument that used was a research observation sheet. Data were analyzed by Cox regression test if it fulfilled the criteria of proportional hazard assumptions using the Kaplan-Meier curve. If it did not fulfilled the criteria so it analyzed used log rank test. Based on the result of the study found that there was a relationship between regularity of taking medicine (p value <0,05, HR = 3,47), nutritional status (p value <0,05, HR = 3,46), education (p value <0,05, HR = 7,56), and leprosy reactions (p value <0,05, HR = 24,86) with grade 2 disability severity among leprosy patients. The factors that have been relationship with severity disability were regularity of taking medicine, nutritional status, education, and leprosy reaction. The factors that have no relationship were age, gender, and leprosy type.
