Abstract

The trade system has an important role in distributing agricultural products to end consumers, and as a key to business success. The results of preliminary observations on farmers in the Legen Tirta farmer group, Selakambang Village, obtained data to market the production of ant sugar. The farmer groups have a cooperative relationship with large traders. This study aims to: (1) Describe and analyze the trading system used to market the sugar production ants produced by the Legen Tirta farmer group in Selakambang Village. (2) Describe and analyze the margin level of the sugar trading system for the Legen Tirta Farmer Group, Selakambag Village. (3) Describe the efficiency level of the sugar trading system for the Legen Tirta Farmer Group, Selakambang Village. The focus of research on the sugar trading system of the Legen Tirta farmer group in Selakambang Village used a descriptive method. The approach used is a qualitative approach and a case study research design. The research location is in Selakambang Village, Kaligondang District, Purbalingga Regency. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and document study. Test the validity of the data using triangulation, the constancy of the observer. The data analysis technique was carried out through data collection, data reduction, presentation and conclusion. The results showed that the ant sugar trading system had two channels, namely, channel one a; farmers to traders, collectors to consumers, channel one b, namely; farmers to traders, collectors to wholesalers, both export and domestic destinations to consumers. The second channel, namely; farmers to wholesalers for both export and domestic destinations to consumers. Each trade system institution performs a trade system function in the form of exchange functions (sales and purchases), physical functions (packaging, transportation, storage), different facilities functions (risk, costs, market information). The price formation that occurs is the price is more influenced by the highest institution for the sugar trade system. Based on the analysis of the efficiency of the trading system used, namely the trade system margin analysis, farmer's share and the ratio of profit and cost, it is found that the most efficient channel is the first channel (a) farmertrader-collector-consumer. With a total margin of 3000 / kg, the farmer's share is 85%, with a profit ratio and balanced with marketing costs that are not too high, namely getting a ratio of 1,3%. Suggestions from this research are to optimize the profits of ant sugar farmers by having a Household Production Permit, the halal label itself, strengthening organizations or cooperatives to support activities and reduce trade margins, and develop innovative and creative production of ant sugar.
