Abstract

Thegrowth of the Islamic finance industry in Indonesia has not yet been maximized. This is evidenced by the low market share of the Islamic financial industry. One of them is the Islamic banking sector, which until June 2019 the market share was only 5.95%. Even though Indonesia has enormous potential with the condition that the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim. According to OJK research in 2016, it shows that one of the obstacles to the development of the Islamic financial industry is the low level of Islamic financial literacy, which is only 8.11%. This study measures the effectiveness of the Islamic financial education program that has been carried out as well as community religiosity as a variable to increase Islamic financial literacy and inclusion. This is a quantitative research using the WarpPLS 7.0 data analysis tool. Respondents are students who have participated in Islamic finance education both formally in universities and non-formal educational programs such as seminars, workshops and training on Islamic finance during 2019 with a sample of 200 students. The results showed that based on the estimated direct effect of Islamic financial education variables and religiosity, it was effective in increasing Islamic financial literacy and inclusion. The effect of education and religiosity on Islamic financial literacy is 21%, while the effect on Islamic financial inclusion with Islamic financial literacy as a mediating variable is 33%. So that Islamic financial education that has been carried out and supported by community religiosity is considered effective in increasing Islamic financial literacy and inclusion.
