Abstract

Process of globalization is demanding tansformation of Indonesian economy from resourced based to knowledge based. One of the Knowledge Based creation is to improve the quality and competitiveness of Indonesian Human Resources. Vocational High Schools are part of the economic sector that drives national economic growth and is a reflection of the quality of Indonesia’s workforce. Hence, this urges Vocational High School graduates to have entrepreneurship competencies. the purpose of this study to analyze the influence of self-efficacy on entrepreneurship competence through student engagement in teaching factory as an intervening variable on Vocational High School students. The research is conducted by using quantitative approach. The research’s population are 277 students of class XII in Vocational High School RUS Kudus. In addition, sample is obtained by probability sampling of proportional random sampling with 164 respondents. Moreover, data collection method is questionnaire. Data is analysed by descriptive-statistical and inferential statistical. The results shows that efficacy has no impact on entrepreneurship competence. Next, self-efficacy has impact on student engagement in teaching factory. Moreover, student engagement in teaching factory has impact on entrepreneurship competence. The results shows that self-efficacy has no impact directly on entrepreneurship competence but self-efficacy has impact indirectly on entrepreneurship competence through student engagement in teaching factory. This finding encourages school to apply students engagement in teaching factory to improve entrepreneurship competence on Vocational High School students.
