Abstract

Nowadays many schools from kindergarten to high school are implementing a bilingual system. It means that the school applies two languages of instruction. In Indonesia, especially in Semarang, this issue is applied not only for high school students but also for kindergarten students level. This follows the awareness of education practitioners about the importance of learning English in the very early stage. Practitioners assume that if you do or learn something early on, then it will be embedded in the minds of children into adulthood. The Kindergarten students of Semesta Bilingual School Semarang is a national plus Islamic school, uses a national curriculum, and introduces English-Indonesian language. Based on this background, the problems of this study are (1) How to plan learning in Kindergarten Semesta Bilingual School (2) How the implementation of teaching and learning activities in English using song media in Kindergarten Semesta Bilingual School (3) How teacher evaluations of learning implementation English uses song media at Semarang Semilingual Bilingual School Kindergarten. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The primary data of this study were collected from interviews with teachers of Semesta Billingual School Semarang and also testimonials from parents of students who had entrusted their children to the Semesta Billingual School Semarang. In addition, other data were also taken from researchers' observations about the education system and English learning methods within the scope of the school, and school documentation studies included checking the daily, weekly, monthly, annual learning plan program, as well as the Child Achievement Level Standard table. The results of this study are (1) Learning planning in Kindergarten of Semesta Billingual School Semarang refers to the Children's Achievement Level Standards (STTPA), daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly programs, with selected material, and includes Basic Competence (KD), and Main Competency (KI) (2) Students of Semesta Billingual School Semarang do English learning activities through songs during the study or circle time. (3) The assessment system of Semesta Billingual School Semarang does not use numbers as an indicator, but uses a description system and the code letters such as BB, MB, BSH, and BB.
