Keywords: video, BISINDO, learning independence, learning outcomes, deaf student This study aims to develop video based BISINDO to improve the independence and learning outcomes of Ungaran State SMPLB students. The method used is RnD. The research subjects were deaf teachers and students at Ungaran State SMPLB. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, observation sheets, and tests. Observations at the Ungaran State SMPLB found that one of the objectives Ungaran State SMPLB was to produce graduates who were independent and could live in community life. Deaf students have limitations on the sense of hearing, so to grow learning independence requires special processes and training. Video based BISINDO assisted learning helps students improve their independence and learning outcomes. This video is equipped with sign language that makes it easy for students to understand the material being studied. The results of the validation carried out by four validators, namely 2 teachers of Ungaran State SMPLB and 2 lecturers of Semarang State University were the average percentage of feasibility of software engineering aspects 89%, visual communication aspects 85.3%, and other aspects 81.25% with level criteria the feasibility of the three aspects is very good. The average increase in student learning independence is 46.1% for the personal aspects of attributes, 52.4% for the aspect process, and 10.2% for the learning context aspect. The learning outcomes of Ungaran State SMPLB students increased with an effect size of 0.48 with moderate criteria.
