Abstract

Electronic money is a innovation payment instrument for people to get easier way to make transactions more quick and practical. Transactions using electronic money have advantages compared to cash transactions. Because of the advantages of electronic money has, it makes electronic money transactions keep increasing. Although transactions continue to increase, the ratio of electronic money transactions compared to APMK is always less than 1%.. The purpose of this study is to look the effect of monetary instruments such as the money supply (M1), counterfeit money, and economic growth on electronic money transactions in Indonesia Type of this research is a quantitative methode using time series data during January 2016 - December 2018 period. The processing technique in this research uses multiple regression analysis using a double log model based on OLS (Ordinary Least Square). The results of this study is indicate that the money supply (M1) has a significant effect on electronic money transactions. Counterfeit money has no significant effect on electronic money transactions. Economic growth has a significant effect on electronic money transactions. Electronic money should be given additional security such as the PIN just like the ATM so if the e-money is lost the owner will not lose the money on it. To create the cashless society, the government should pay more attention to small business. In addition, Bank Indonesia must encourage the public to switch on electronic money in order to reduce the money supply and avoid the risk of counterfeit money.
