Keywords: Social Skill, Integrated Thematic Learning, Strengthen the Character Education The social skills of students in Islamic basic schools should have been well defined in the vision and mission of the school. However, in fact there are still students who have low social skills. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of integrated thematic learning in SD Darussalam, analyze the social skill of students in integrated thematic learning, and analyze the strengthening of character education in integrated thematic learning. The research approach used in this study was qualitative research with a phenomenological design. The sources of data in this study obtained from principals, teachers, and elementary school students. The data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The data validity technique applied was data triangulation. The data analysis techniques used were data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/ verification. The results of this study shows that the implementation of integrated thematic learning in SD Darussalam carried out through three stages, preliminary activities, core activities and closing activities. Social skills in this study include four aspects of social skills such as (a) environmental behavior (b) interpersonal behavior (c) self-related behavior and (d) task-related behavior. The social skills of students in some aspects were still low, such as the caring aspects on the environment. The strengthening of character education in thematic learning was carried out in three stages, planning, implementation and evaluation. The planning to strengthen the character education was carried out through pre-semester teacher work meetings, mentoring of teachers and employees and the preparation and development of characterized lesson plans. The strengthening character education was carried out through five continuums which include gestures, innuendo, asking questions, speaking directly and gestures. Then, the evaluation of strengthening the character education in schools using assessment guidelines that have been prepared in the curriculum with a certain value scale.
