Abstract

Children are the next generation of the nation who have limitations in understanding and protecting themselves from the various influences of the existing system and are the spearhead of change from every age. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of street children coaching in the Semarang Independent Children's Social Services Institution and analyze the inhibiting and supporting factors for the implementation of street children's coaching in the Independent Children's Social Services Institution in Semarang This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Determination of data sources is done purposively. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and documentation, while the instrument is the researcher himself. The data validity technique uses triangulation of sources and methods. Data analysis uses an interactive model with activities including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions The results of this study are coaching conducted in the context of education and health. Educational development is carried out in the aspect of knowledge through vocational education. In the aspect of skills education is carried out. the program includes certain fields such as vehicle series knowledge, car steering, welding, sewing. Achievement is measured by mastering the skills that are followed. Educational development is an aspect of the attitude of instilling children's discipline with various regulations, familiarizing children with religious activities, and involving the community in the character planting activities of street children. Health development is carried out through socialization activities about HIV/AIDS and information on the dangers of drug use, health checks conducted by health centers and outbound activities. The psychological health development activities are carried out through religious activities. Supporting factors are from within the child aware of the problems being faced and want to change his attitude. The Semarang Children's Independent Social Services Orphanage provides supporting facilities and infrastructure. the inhibiting factor of the coaching activities is that the coaching activities are still not visible, the child coaching activities lack discipline. The conclusion of this research is that coaching is conducted in the context of Education including knowledge, skills and attitudes and health includes psychic and physical. The suggestion of this research is to evaluate and pay more attention to determine social attitudes, reduce feeling lazy and take advantage of facilities in coaching activities more optimally.
