Abstract

Based on the need analysis, the assessment of practicum process applied in SMP Negeri 2 Magelang was considered not to be effective to assess the student's performance. It was because the number of students, the application of self assessment, and the effectiveness to measure students’ science process skills. The study aims to determine the feasibility and criteria result of self assessment instrument implementation. This study uses Borg and Gall modification model that consists of nine steps. The method of collecting data used interview, documentation, questionnaire, and observation technique. The research result was analyzed descriptively. The developed self assesment instrument was validated by two experts of material expert and assessment expert. The validation result shows 91,67% and 94,05% considered to be very feasible. In the limited scale,the try out was implemented to find out the readability while in the implementation scale it was used to find its effectiveness. The result of rater reliability average was 0,98. Science process skill presentation from self assessment instrument was 20% of students categorized as excellent, 53,33% of students categorized as good, 26,67% of students categorized as good enough, and no students categorized as not good. Self assessment instrument criteria result reached 70% to determine the science process skill profile. Implementation result of self assessment instrument based on category of average value of science process skill aspect was 80%. Based on the result, it can be said that self assessment instrument was feasible and effective tobe used to determine students’science process skill profile.
