Abstract

The aims of this research are to determine the influence of think pair share model with couple card media on conceptual understanding and scientific communication skills. This study was an experimental study using a quasiexperimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The results showed a correlation coefficient based on conceptual comprehension posttest of students is r= 0,73. The results of t-test analysis showed tcount=10,13 and ttable=1,67; these means think pair share model assisted by sound’s couple card is significantly influencing to the conceptual comprehension of students. The coefficient of determination shows the amount of influence; it value is 53.00%. The resulting analysis of scientific communication skills observation showed the value of the correlation coefficient obtained r= 0.47. The results of t-test analysis showed tcount=6,30 and ttable=1,67; these means think pair share model assisted by sound’s couple card is significantly influencing to the student’s scientific communication skills. The coefficient of determination shows the amount of influence; the value is 22.00%. The results of the analysis also showed the influence of conceptual comprehension on scientific communication skills thinking during the learning using think pair share model assisted by sound’s couple card is 53.00%. The results have been shows the average yield value of learning implementation is 90,68%, it has very good criteria. The conclusion of this research is think pair share model assisted by sound’s couple card influence the conceptual comprehension and scientific communication skills of students
