Abstract

The observation results at SMP N 9 Magelang shows that the learning achievement and the students' caring attitude are still low. This is evidenced by the result of final examination score of odd semester of academic year 2016/2017 where 19% of total students whom succeed in. The low level of students' caring attitude is baked with the habits of students who still throw the garbage carelessly and put the garbage under the table. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of Cazel-assisted Problem Based Learning model pollution material on learning outcomes and students' caring attitude. This research is an experimental research using quasi-experimental design with control group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were students of class VII D to VII G The samples were taken using random sampling technique and obtained that the class VII D as experimental class and the class VII G as control class. The cognitive learning outcomes were analyzed by t-test. The results of affective learning, psychomotor and environmental cares were analyzed using Mann-Whitneyy test. The results of N-gain test of cognitive learning result of experimental class 0,49 included in medium category and control class equal to 0,26 included in low category. Based on the test result of the difference of mean value of cognitive learning result of experiment and control class student known that at tcount posttets = 2,7809 while ttable (α=0,05) = 2,0017 so there is a significant difference between cognitive learning result of experiment class and control class. The result of Mann- Whitneyy test of affective learning result shows zcount = 2,4247 > ztable = 1,960 so it can be said that there is a significant difference between experimental class affective learning result and control class. Mann-Whitneyy test results psychomotor learning results show zcount = 2,5134> ztable = 1.960 so it can be said that there is a significant difference between the results of experimental class psychomotor learning and control classes. Mann-Whitneyy test result of environmental care attitude shows zcount = 2,506 > ztable = 1,960 so it can be said that there is a significant difference between experiment class environmental attitude and control class. Therefore it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model assisted by cazel on pollution material is effective towards learning result and student's caring attitude. To facilitate the learning process with problem-based learning model assisted cazel need an explanation before the learning process implemented
