Abstract

Proses pembelajaran merupakan sarana untuk mengembangkan diri, meningkatkan kesadaran untuk berperan serta dalam memelihara, dan melestarikan lingkungan alam serta tradisi budaya yang ada untuk sumber belajar. Hambatan dalam proses pembelajaran IPA adalah kemandirian belajar siswa dan pelestarian budaya terhadap tradisi yang ada di lingkungan masyarakat sebagai sumber belajar masih lemah. Upaya dalam mewujudkan pembelajaran yang berkualitas perlu dirancang dengan mengoptimalkan potensi dan pengetahuan awal yang dimiliki oleh siswa. Bahan ajar sebagai komponen penunjang dalam pembelajaran harus sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Salah satunya yaitu modul IPA berbasis etnosains yang mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa karena pembahasan modul diharapkan dapat mencari informasi serta menterjemahkan sains asli masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji efektivitas modul pembelajaran IPA berbasis etnosains terhadap karakter cinta budaya lokal dan kemandirian siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII semester 2 SMP N 22 Semarang dan sampel yang digunakan yaitu kelas VIII G sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII H sebagai kelas kontrol. Jenis desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi-experimental design dengan bentuk nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan modul IPA berbasis etnosains efektif terhadap kemandirian dan cinta budaya lokal siswa. Besar keefektifan modul dilihat dari hasil uji hipotesis yaitu uji perbedaan menggunakan Mann-Whitney data kemandirian dan uji perbedaan cinta budaya lokal. Hasil yang diperoleh dari data bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest-posttest kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan data hasil Zhitung kemandirian sebesar 12,227 dan cinta budaya lokal sebesar 12,337. Penggunaan modul IPA berbasis etnosains efektif terhadap kemandirian dan cinta budaya lokal siswa. The learning process is a means for self-development, raising awareness to participate in nurturing, and preserving the natural environment and cultural traditions that exist for learning resources. Obstacles in the process of science learning is the independence of student learning and cultural preservation of the traditions that exist in the community as a source of learning is still weak. Efforts in realizing quality learning need to be designed by optimizing the potential and initial knowledge possessed by students. Teaching materials as a supporting component in learning must be in accordance with the needs of students. One of them is the IPA module based on ethnosciences that is able to increase the students' knowledge because the discussion of the module is expected to find information and translate the original science of the community. The purpose of this research is to test the effectiveness of science-based teaching module of ethnosciences on the character of love of local culture and student independence. The population in this research is the students of class VIII semester 2 of SMP N 22 Semarang and the sample used is class VIII G as experimental class and class VIII H as control class. The type of research design used is quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The results show that the use of science module based on ethnosains is effective towards the independence and love of local culture of the students. The great effectiveness of the module is seen from the result of hypothesis test that is difference test using Mann-Whitney independence data and test the difference of love of local culture. The results obtained from the data that there are significant differences between the results of pretest-posttest experimental class and control class. Based on Zhitung independence data of 12,227 and local culture love of 12,337. The use of ethnoscience-based IPA module is effective against the independence and love of the students' local culture.
