Abstract
IPA mencakup materi yang sangat luas sehingga memiliki banyak kata ilmiah. Kata ilmiah tersebut biasa dipelajari dengan menggunakan kamus cetak. Terdapatnya teknologi smartphone mampu menjadi salah satu media alternatif untuk memudahkan belajar peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara dengan guru IPA tentang pembelajaran IPA di SMP Kristen Gergaji diperoleh hasil bahwa banyaknya istilah asing dalam IPA menyulitkan peserta didik. Penyalahgunaan smartphone dalam pembelajaran menyulitkan guru untuk mengendalikan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi Kamus Elektronik materi IPA serta mengetahui tingkat kelayakannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Reseach and Development (R&D). Penelitian meliputi identifikasi potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi produk, uji coba skala kecil. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelayakan aplikasi Kamus Elektronik dinyatakan sangat layak dengan skor validasi media 82,5%, validasi materi 85,0%. Hasil dari tanggapan guru memperoleh skor sebesar 92,5% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Hasil dari tanggapan peserta didik memperoleh skor sebesar 86,5% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli media dan ahli materi serta tanggapan guru dan peserta didik maka aplikasi Kamus Elektronik sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA. Science covers a very broad material that has many scientific words. The word scientific is usually studied by using a printed dictionary. The presence of smartphone technology can be one of the alternative media to facilitate learners. Based on observations and interviews with science teacher about science lessons at Kristen Gergaji Junior High School obtained a result that mostly odd term on the science makes it difficult for student. The minuse of smartphones in learning makes it difficult for teachers to control learning. Based on that problem, this study aims to develop an electronic dictionary application also knowing properness degree. This research uses Reseach and Development (R & D) method. The research step consisted of identification of potentials and problem, data collection , product design, design validation, product revisions, small-scale trials. Based on the results of the research shows the feasibility of the application of Electronic Diction is considered very feasible with the media validation score 82.5%, material validation 85.0%. The results of the teacher's response obtained a score of 92.5% with very good criteria. Results of the learners' responses obtained a score of 86.5% with very good criteria. Based on the validation of media experts and material experts as well as the responses of teachers and learners, the application of Electronic Dictionary is very feasible to be used in science learning.
