Abstract

Hasil observasi dan wawancara guru mata pelajaran IPA di SMP PGRI Wirosari diketahui rata-rata nilai hasil belajar kognitif siswa dari nilai ulangan harian masih belum memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan minimum yang ada di sekolah tersebut sebesar 66, dan pembelajaran IPA masih didominasi dengan ceramah dan diperlukan strategi yang tepat untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga bahaya rokok bagi kesehatan diduga tepat diterapkan pada materi zat adiktif dan psikotropika. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas alat peraga bahaya rokok bagi kesehatan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif dan sikap ilmiah siswa. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelas, yaitu VIII A (kontrol) dan VIII (eksperimen) dengan menggunakan Purposive Sampling. Desain penelitian adalah ekperimen semu (Quasi Experimental) dengan rancangan Posttest-Only Group Design. Data utama berupa hasil belajar kognitif dan sikap ilmiah siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata aktivitas siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 76,88 dan 72,92. Peningkatan hasil belajar ditunjukkan dengan nilai gain kelas eksperimen (0,34) masuk kategori sedang, dan kelas kontrol (0,22) masuk kategori rendah, sedangkan hasil uji t menunjukkan hasil belajar kognitif dan sikap ilmiah siswa kelas eksperimen tidak sama dengan kelas kontrol dan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga bahaya rokok bagi kesehatan efektif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif dan sikap ilmiah siswa. Beside on the result of observation and interview to science teachers at PGRI Wirosari Junior High School, It is obtained that the average value of cognitive learning outcomes of students from their results of daily test scores still do not meet the existing minimum completeness criteria in that school, amounted to 66, and also the learning process for Science subject is still using speech methods, It is needed an appropriate strategy to overcome the problem. Learning process using Cigarette Smoking Hazard Tools is appropriate to be applied to addictive and psychotropic substances. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the Cigarette Smoking Hazard Tools is effective toward cognitive learning outcomes and scientific attitudes of students or not. The subject of the research consists of 2 classes, the VIII A (control) and VIII C (experiment) by using Purposive Sampling. The research design used is quasi experimental research with Posttest-Only Group Design. The main data is the result of cognitive learning and students' scientific attitude. The results showed that the average activity of experimental class and control class were 76,88 and 72,92. The increase of learning result with gain test showed experiment class (0,34) in medium improvement category, and control class (0,22) entered low category, while t test result showed cognitive learning outcomes and scientific attitudes of experimental class students are not the same as control classes and there are significant differences. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the learning process using the Cigarette Smoking Hazard Tools is effective toward cognitive learning outcomes and students' scientific attitude.
