Abstract

Konsumtif biasanya menjelaskan tentang keinginan untuk memiliki atau mengkonsumsi barang secara berlebihan yang sebenarnya kurang diperlukan atau bukan menjadi kebutuhan pokok. Sehingga konsumtif cenderung mengarah pada perilaku boros yang lebih mendahulukan keinginan daripada kebutuhan. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal menunjukkan bahwa perilaku konsumtif pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Akuntansi Universitas Negeri Semarang Angkatan 2014 relatif tinggi. Hal ini didasarkan oleh penggunaan uang saku yang relatif impas sebesar 83,33% dari 30 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh status sosial ekonomi orang tua dan peer group melalui financial literacy terhadap perilaku konsumtif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Akuntansi Universitas Negeri Semarang Angkatan 2014 yang berjumlah 80 mahasiswa bukan penerima beasiswa bidik misi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa angket. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) ada pengaruh status sosial ekonomi orang tua terhadap perilaku konsumtif secara parsial sebesar 9,30%, (2) ada pengaruh peer group terhadap perilaku konsumtif secara parsial sebesar 29,16%, (3) ada pengaruh financial literacy terhadap perilaku konsumtif secara parsial 33,06%, (4) ada pengaruh status sosial ekonomi orang tua terhadap financial literacy secara parsial sebesar 6,50%, (5) ada pengaruh peer group terhadap financial literacy secara parsial sebesar 6,15%, (6) ada pengaruh status sosial ekonomi orang tua melalui financial literacy sebagai variabel intervening terhadap perilaku konsumtif secara langsung sebesar 11,53%, (7) ada pengaruh peer group melalui financial literacy sebagai variabel intervening terhadap perilaku konsumtif secara langsung sebesar 11,16%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan, terdapat pengaruh status sosial ekonomi orang tua, peer group, dan financial literacy terhadap perilaku konsumtif. Terdapat pengaruh status sosial ekonomi orang tua, peer group terhadap financial literacy. Serta ada pengaruh peer group melalui financial literacy sebagai variabel intervening terhadap perilaku konsumtif. Saran yang dapat disampaikan antara lain: sebaiknya Orang Tua lebih meningkatkan komunikasi dengan anak dalam hal konsumsi serta mahasiswa hendaknya mampu mengontrol keterikatan mereka pada teman sebayanya, Consumptive usually defined as the desire to have or consume goods excessively which is less necessary or not a basic requirement. Consumptive tends to lead to extravagant behavior that prefers desires rather than needs. Results of preliminary observation indicated that consumptive behavior in class of 2014 Accounting Education students of Universitas Negeri Semarang was relatively high. As many as 83.33 % of 30 students used up their pocket money. This study aimed to describe the influence of socioeconomic status of parents and peer group involvement through financial literacy to consumptive behavior. Subjects in this study were class of 2014 Accounting Education students of Universitas Negeri Semarang. The number of subject was 80 non-awardees of Bidik Misi scholarship students. This research used quantitative approach with questionnaire as the data collection technique. The data obtained was analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis and path analysis. The results of this study were (1) there was a partial influence of socioeconomic status of parent to consumptive behavior (9,30%), (2) there was a partial influence of peer group involvement to consumptive behavior (29,16%), (3) there was a partial influence of financial literacy to consumptive behavior (33,06%), (4) there was a partial influence of parent socioeconomic status to financial literacy (6,50%), (5) there was a partial influence of peer group involvement to financial literacy (6,15%), ( 6) there was a direct influence of socioeconomic status of parent through financial literacy as intervening variable to consumptive behavior (11,53%), (7) there was a direct influence of peer group involvement through financial literacy as intervening variable to consumptive behavior (11,16%). Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is an influence of socioeconomic status of parents, peer group involvement, and financial literacy to consumptive behavior. There is an influence of socioeconomic status of parents and peer group involvement to financial literacy. And there is an influence of peer group involvement through financial literacy as intervening variable to consumptive behavior. It is suggested that parents should improve the communication with children in terms of consumptive behavior and students should be able to control their attachment to their peers.
